Practical notes on preserving the luster, patina, and soul of fine jewelry over a lifetime of wear.
The best care for fine jewelry is consistent, unremarkable care. A soft cloth after each wear. A pause before perfume. A separate pouch, never a shared drawer. None of it is dramatic; all of it is what keeps the piece in conversation with light for the next forty years.
For 18k gold, warm water with a drop of neutral soap, once a season. Dry immediately with a lint-free cloth. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners on pieces with enamel or delicate stones — they will survive a single pass, but not a habit.
If a piece ever needs more than cloth and water, send it back to us. Every Patara item carries a lifetime service guarantee; we will re-polish, re-set, or re-solder at no cost, for as long as the piece exists.
