An honest look at provenance, ethics, and the quiet discipline behind every precious stone in our collections.
Sourcing a precious stone well is not about finding the rarest cut — it is about knowing where it slept before it met your hand. Patara works only with cutters and dealers whose ledgers we have read, whose workshops we have visited, and whose ethics we have verified across multiple years.
Every sapphire, every emerald, every piece of carnelian in our vault arrives with a named origin and a named hand. There are no anonymous stones in the Patara atelier. If we cannot trace it, we do not set it.
This discipline costs us time. A typical collection takes nine to fourteen months from concept to vitrine — most of it spent not on design, but on verification. We consider this time non-negotiable. A piece of jewelry meant to last generations cannot begin with a compromise in its first hour.
